i don't know what happened to this journal but I can't add anything in the usual way so here it is as a stand alone review.
The arrival back was not what I expected. It was snowing! They/we have had 170 inches of snow so far this winter and it was still coming down. not the return I had expected.
A friend met me and we went to the post office to pick up five months of mail. Well, this is Juneau and it was still snowing so the clerk carried the whole box out to the car for me. As I said, this is Juneau and I remember that he did this for me last year, too. It is good to be home.
My condo was as neat as I had left it . The truck is snowed in with all the snow from the plowing for the past months in back.Wednesday, I bought a bus pass and have been riding the city buses for the past two days. Not so convenient as a truck but doable and , since I don't want to put on the studded tires for just a month and the truck without them is not too safe, the bus is the best idea.
So much going on - The rock opera Tommy opens this weekend; Beauty and the Beast is also at the high school ; the science fair is always fun; a talk on public transit without petroleum; a potluck; a women's forum - this is just for the next three days.
And, yes, I have gotten the PFD application in. That's the main reason I come back in mid-March. the deadline for filing is March 31.
So much to do before I leave again in late March. Dolores, David, my grandchildren and I are meeting in San Francisco for five days. I really like to have all of us together and am looking forward to that.
It is still snowing and that prediction continues for the next three days. Most of the stuff I want to do is downtown so I can walk.
Consider Alaska as a vacation site in summer. This snow is not very appelaing to me!
