Our driver was miraculously healed of all intestinal issues so we decided to keep him on as our driver...for better or worse. We arrived in Jodhpur and headed straight to the fort which is famed for being the most spectacular in India, It is! It was unique in that it offered a spectacular audio tour so we could understand everything and wander at our leisure. We spend hours there. The views of the city were brilliant. It is called the blue city because the houses and businesses are all washed in a blue wash so from the fort the whole city is blue. We stayed and watched the sunset...it was stunning over the city. We also spent a good hour (ok Carrie spent a good hour) trying to capture the eagles that were everywhere in mid flight. We deleted a lot of pictures that day :) It was amazing though, there were dozens of eagles circling over our heads and swooping down to pick up the carnage that the staff puts out for them. We made a little friend while waiting for the sun to set. He was fifteen. Plans to be married at 21 and have boys by 23. He, of course, asked us how many sons we had...hahaha.
The next day, we went to the bazaar and got sucked into a spice shop. We learned a lot about spices, had some yummy tea, and of course bought a bunch of spices. I bought Carrie a lunch box that she has been coveting across asia...its superb! All the Indians thought we were crazy for coming to India and buying a lunch box. We walked around and after a shorter than normal span of time we lost our minds and had to leave the bazaar. One can only last in an Indian bazaar for so long before the cows, cars, and men start to make you crazy. We ate yet another delicious vegetarian meal and headed back to the cockroach room (our second room ...the first one smelled so bad) and watched some movies and practiced with our camera. Our spectacular eagle pictures made us realize we needed to figure out our camera a bit better before safari...now we can pan and catch animals in mid movement.

That lunch box... is it one of those stackable cylinders with the compartments to keep your sauces and stews separate from your rice and stuff? Ooooooo.
