Although I can't say much about the town as I didn't spend any time here except to sleep the hostel is really well done and with friendly owners to boot!
Eastland is great for surfing and if you’re in Eastland, you’ve got to check out the wineries. Gisborne is called the ‘Chardonnay Capital of NZ’.
