Iguazu Falls, what a journey to get there! Firstly our plane was cancelled, so after being translator for all the Americans I managed to get us on the next flight, this was a really dodgy aeroplane with no life jackets! First we were seated at the back where the engine was and had no windows, then they moved us up to the middle. It did get us there but was not a pleasant flight at all. One of the funniest things had been all the reactions of the different nationalities to the cancellation.

On arrival we were faced with a blockade to get into the town, this was a protest from the locals who wanted a cleaner school for their children. This lasted an hour or so.

The actual Iguazu Falls were absolutely stunning, I would say even better than Vic Falls. There were different levels and walkways right out to the edge of the water falls. We went on a jet boat in and out of the 3 Musketeer falls, which felt like we were drowning. It was a really fun filled day, we went across to the San Martin Island for more views of the longest row of water falls and saw so much wildlife, the island was literally crawling with animals, lizards and birds. The main animals we saw were Koitis - a bit like long nosed racoons, a cayman, lizards, including a huge one getting on for the size of a Komodo dragon, vultures, turtles, humming birds...

An excellent day all round finished off with an hour wait for the local bus and then having to get off at the protest and walking to the front line to wait til 7pm to get through and make a run for the bus on the other side. The protest was all very interesting, if not just for the amusement of watching the frustration of the tourists!
