I arrived at Iguazu Falls in the North of Argentina at about 2pm. After checking in at the hotel I skipped straight down to the tour desk to organise my days and get stay well sorted. I decided to hire an english speaking guide for the next two days so that I could make the most of the trip here.
That afternoon there was a jetboat ride leaving at 3.15 so I shot back to my room, got changed and headed off.
I booked a trip to Brazil the following day and a walk along the rainforest and the edge of the falls on that side and a helicopter ride from there over the falls. I also booked a rainforest walk and a walk to the top of the falls on the Agrentinian side for the afternoon and a kayak trip in the delta above the falls on the morning of the following day along with a trail walk which was called the lower trail.
The first day was a huge day for me. We were up at 5.30am for Dee and all to leave Buenos Aires, I handed over the apartment keys to the chap at 9 and headed out to the airport for my flight, then the flight up and the boat ride and a few drinks at the bar sure did me in. I decided to write a few cards and have my meal in my room. However I was woken up by the room service lady with my dinner and was really too tired to eat. So I ate my salmon and actually got into bed and crashed. Funny though, the woman came all the way into the room and shook me awake, I never heard her knock or come into the room. So guys, not much has changed....I can still sleep on the couch!!
My stay here was really enjoyable. My guide Solidad was just lovely..I had her as my guide the whole time I was there, so we really got to know one another and the experience was really great. She was in her late 20's, from Buenos Aires originally but had come to the area after studying tourism. She had just built her own home in the town near Iguazu and she had two miniature daschunds....Cachilo and Daisy!!
So all in all I would thoroughly recommend spending a few days here at least. There is so much to do and I had a lovely time.
