One of the top ten European desitnations

So originally we were going to spend a night in Split and see what all the hype was about, but judging from what we could see from the bus we werent really impressed. We could have been missing tons  of great stuff but we ended up going straight to Hvar island, one of the top ten destinations in Europe and I can see why. This place is gorgeous. As many of you know Santorini is one of my favotrite places in the world but this place may take a close second. Coming to Hvar Nick and I had no accomodations set up so furtunately we met a group of people from England on the ferry ride over to the island who let us join them camping. I though camping in the house tent in Venice was roughing it, but let me tell you we were really roughing it. We had to rent a tent from the camp ground AND have the guys working there set it up for us. After that we all shared some wine at the local restaurant in the area and set out for bed, four of us in a two man tent. Fun times. We didnt really sleep that night but we stayed up and just laughed for hours about the situation. We spent the next day at the beach, Nick and I treated ourselves to a real sit down meal and then headed to Hvar town. Definatly the coolest place on the Island. We laid down for a nap with the intention of getting up and going out on the town but having not slept the night before a short nap turned into a fourteen hour one! So we missed the nightlife but spent the next day exploring the town and hanging out at the beach.

We had only planned to stay in Hvar for two nights but that turned into three when the only ferry out was full. So it certainly was not the worst thing in the world to be stranded on a beautiful island for another day, but  once again we found our selves with no place to stay and again we latched ourselves onto some other travellers and followed them to where they were staying. Funny how everything all just seems to work out. We got the last room in town! Off for a two day ferry ride to Greece!
