Chillin out amongst sand dunes in Huacachina

How do we describe this place?  On the one hand its a beautiful desert oasis with a lake, surrounded by palm trees, massive sand dunes where many local school kids come for a day trip.  On the other hand its a mecca for the chilled out, hippy backbackers who come to sit by the pool for a week and do a spot of sand boarding or dune buggy rides. We liked the place but one night was enough for us.

It almost killed us trying to climb up the largest dune but it was worth it for the view from the top. Another nice hotel - see photo of the pool! We´re not really slumming it as you can see.
