The Year of the Rooster and 1000's of people flocked to the Largest Giant Buddha Statue in Hong Kong to pay their respects to the new year and gods above. One of the most inspiring moment of my life, as I watched people pay their respect, listened to the buddhist monks chant and in general just soaked up the atmosphere. Its amazing how Australians just don't celebrate in this way like like our Asian neighbors, thats not bad just different. I had to catch a train from Nathan road out to the a remote station then bus it for about 45 minutes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Hong Kong. Island roads and beaches, you could of been in any south east asian country. The crowds were bad however I didn't mind because without them it wouldn't of been the same. Thanks for the LP guide with directions on how to get there, and a must for anyone in Hong Kong especially over Chinese New Year!
