3 hours bus ride from Hue we arrived in the riverside town of Hoi An. Hoi An is an ancient port town on the Thu Bon River, today tourism has taken over as the town's major industry. Unfortunately two days was not enough to take in Hoi An, it is a shoppers paradise for clothing and shoes as the tailors abound, I think there is over 1000 tailors who will make anything you request, and the quality is just surperb, you can also have shoes made everything from sport to elegant evening shoes and everything else in between. We both had a couple of very nice winter coats made, crazy in such a hot city as well as some more summer clothes which have all been sent to the UK, fingers crossed they get there. Kev had his favourite pair of shorts copied and they are better than the original pair. We loved Hoi An so much we are going to go back. We took our chances and hired a motor bike to the beach which is fantastic, it streatches for miles so you can just about have it all to yourself in parts. We manged to get free parking for our bike and two free beach chairs at a little local restaurant just as long as we brought a drink, very good deal.
