Tour to Cao Dai Cathedral and war tunnels

Today instead of heading into the adventure by our selves we decided to take a tour, it was a good idea.

We had the chance to presence the Tay Ninh ceremony at noon of the Cao Dai religion. This religion was created in 1926 and it’s a mixture of the Catholicism, Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Basically what it says is that there is a universal Good and that the world is on its last step. To get in the temple we had to take out our shoes and go to the first level. All the locals were wearing with suits and the leaders or professors had either a red, blue or yellow suits representing the three religions involve. The temple is very colorful and the pillars are painted in pink with a dragon surrounding them,

Then we head to the tunnels in the jungle. With more than 250km of tunnels of approximately 80cm per 80 cm, the Vietnamese used them as a refuge from the war. Also they used as part of their strategy to contra attack the enemies. In some cases they had 4 levels and they had to be lying on the ground to receive the oxygen. Just because in some occasions they needed to be there for weeks, so they had kitchens, meeting rooms and so on. Surrounding the tunnels we could see the impacts of some bombs with massive holes in the jungle. But the real thing was to cross one of these tunnels with no even close to 100m you can really feel claustrophobic in there. Although they have been smoothly illuminated there are some points that you can’t see your hand in front of your face. Moreover, it is hard to know which way to follow. It is just unreal to imagine how many people were using them at the same time without a guide and in the middle if shoots and bombs… afterwards we had the chance to shoot the AK 47 that they use, wow!!! They really kick you back…
