We awoke very ambitious this morning and decided we would go to Hillerod , Frederiksborg Castle and then on to Helsingor to Hamlets Castle. We boarded the S- tog to Hillerod since that was the furthest out. We totally underestimated the size of this castle. It was enormous! After touring the Castle and gardens, which were beautiful, we were still in agreement to move onto Helsingor that was until we started reading the Rick Steves book. Rick recommended Frederiksborg over Hamlets castle anyday and said it really wasn't anything special for the journey.. this persuaded us to rethink our travels and we decided to head back into the City for a fun afternoon and wrap up some areas on the Stroget we hadn't visited yet. This included backtracking to get the pic I forgot of Hans Christian Andersen outside of City Hall.
We stopped for some lunch and people watching and then headed over to our neighborhood to Kaffe Salonen for one last "bucket" of Hoegaardens on the lake!
In the end , this was a wise choice because we were able to wash everything at the apartment and do an organized pack for Paris. We visited the courtyard one last time and then called it a night. We have an early flight to Paris the next morning , with no alarm clock so who knews if we will be on that Plane!!!
A few pics of the castle are attached !

Good decision Picking Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød - one of my favorite sightseeing places; many times I went there with students because it is simply such a beautiful castle with a unique selection of portraits, paintings and photography. As a Dane I am impressed by how organized you have been - seeing all the important places of my city. Wonderful text and pictures - great work...
