Hey Everyone!
Just thought I would write you a quick note. Brad and I arrived at our hotel around 11:30PM on Friday night. Once we got on the plane in Green Bay we literally ran to our next plane in O’Hare, but got on without any problems. The ride to Japan was long, but the food was good. I don’t think that either of you (Mom and Dad) would’ve liked the seats we had. They weren’t very big and for such a long ride they weren’t very comfortable either. Thank goodness I had an empty seat next to me so it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. Our seats on the plane ride from Japan to Hanoi we very similar, but the plane was pretty empty so we could stretch out a bit. Needless to say I am not looking forward to the trip home with Thai, unless the planes are somewhat empty again.
Our hotel is beautiful and the staff is VERY nice. We have a room with a king size bed and a bathroom with a shower and a nice deep tub. It is very much like what you might find in the states, Mom I think that you would definitely approveJ. We didn’t do much on Saturday except sleep and look around the hotel grounds. The outdoor pool is beautiful! The children’s pool has two stone turtles spitting out a stream of water into it. I’m not sure that I will take Thai into that, I think those things might scare him. Next to the pool is a garden. Brad and I think that it is meant to be a frog garden since all you can hear are frogs chirping- (very loud frog chirpings) again it’s very beautiful.
I think that Brad should be ok when it comes to food. Our hotel’s room service offers a cheese burger, a couple of different types of wraps, and a club sandwich. However, the prices of these sandwiches are very similar to what you would find in the states so I don’t know how often we will be eating at the hotel.
We are both unpacked and have Thai’s things ready for him. We received a packet from out adoption agency Saturday morning explaining what we will be doing once we get Thai. Something that Brad and I will have to do on Sunday will be to get a cell phone. There are many times that the agency and/or the US Embassy will need to contact us so this will be the easiest way for them to do that.
Brad and I are very anxious to get Thai. We will let you know when we are able to get him. We are hoping that it will be either Monday or Tuesday. We hope that everything is going well with all of you. We can’t wait to return home with our son and see everyone. Good bye for now.
Love~
Erika and Brad

Good to hear you made it there okay. Those long flights can be a bear. Were you able to sleep on the plane? I can't, so long trips become very long trips. We can't wait to see Thai! I leave (driving) for Iowa tomorrow morning (Sunday) and will be there all week, but I will call Roger & Audrey with the phone numbers. It's too late to call tonight (11:20pm). Take care, and keep blogging!! Jeff
