Well it's been a while since my last post and we've covered a fair bit of distance. We spent a week or so exploring the ancient ruins of Hampi, which was a really beautiful and tranquil place. Although the monkeys were abit scary and surrounded us at one of the temples and tried to steal our bag!!

From there we headed down to Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka, where we made up our mind to avoid Indian cities from now on!! They are just so full on.... noisy, polluted, dirty and chaotic!! Bangalore had recently been flooded, which meant the footpaths and roads were all lopsided and there were huge holes everywhere, so getting around was pretty difficult!!

Then we headed down to Mysore and checked out the Maharaja's Palace which was pretty impressive and then went trekking in the mountains for three days and stayed with local Indian families which was really nice, and then headed to an organic coffee plantation where we stayed in little cottages in the rainforest and feasted on divine organic vegetarian food....mmmmm!

And now we find ourselves in Ooti, waiting for the rain to stop so that we can go trekking in the forest and hopefully catch a glimpse of an elephant!!
