San Cristobal de las Casas is located in the center of the Chiapas state, in the highest mountains of the Mayan World. Some time after the city was founded (1528), two enormous mansions, which house Diego de Mazariegos Hotel, was built as a result of the urban planning. Diego de Mazariegos was the founder of this city and the Hotel was named after him. Two Coleto style patios paved with stone slabs and four corridors supported by rustically turned wood columns that stand up on carved stone bases provide a discrete stylish environment.
