Featuring the remnants of three ancient Hawaiian temples, as well as a replica of King David Kalakaua's beach cottage onsite, this oceanfront resort is located on the Kona Coast, approximately 13 miles from Keahole-Kona International Airport. Local attractions include Kailua-Kona Town, approximately eight miles away, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, located 83 miles from the resort.Set on 10 acres of tropical gardens, this resort features naturally occurring tide pools by the water's edge which contain sea turtles and other marine life. In addition to the onsite temples and the King's cottage replica, other cultural touches include artistic murals, wood-carved canoes, cultural activities, and feather lei. Recreational facilities include the swimming pool, children's pool, six tennis courts, and a fitness center. The Kalona Spa offers massages, beauty treatments, and hair care. Other amenities include an ATM, laundry facilities, ice machine, kids' programs, laundry services, 24-hour front desk, elevators, gift shop, postcards, free newspapers, parking (for a fee), shuttles to Keauhou Shopping Village, and wireless Internet access areas. Dining options include the Kamaaina Terrace, the Verandah Lounge, and the Kalanikai Bar & Grill.Guest rooms feature air-conditioning, alarm clocks, balconies, cable TV, movies on-demand, video games, telephones, dataports, voicemail, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards, refrigerators, coffeemakers, safes, and Internet access (for a fee).
