"Overall the Cambie is a great place for backpackers and other low budget travellers who want to be right in the middle of downtown Vancouver." source Hostelworld

"Dance clubs (5 min walk), one block from the Steam clock, easily accesible by skytrain, Good breakfast too, will definitely stay there again." source Hostelworld

"Generally a very good hostel, a bit old maybe but clean and comfortable, nice atmosphere and staff really helpful." source Hostelworld

"I highly recommend The Cambie it had a really nice atmosphere." source Hostelworld

"Recommended for those who like easy access to lots of pubs." source Hostelworld

  • Clean: Rating of 3.5 out of 5

"My room was almost as loud as the bar itself, the beds were not really clean and when my friend asked for new sheets because his bed was not cleaned after the last person, he was told to sleep in another room." source Hostelworld

"The room was very clean, the shower was clean too. Some mold spots on the ceiling of the shower, but nothing major; the floor was neat and clean though." source Hostelworld

"The bathroom was clean but you had no privacy you had to get in to the shower in your towel and then throw it over the shower door as they provided no hooks in the girls bathroom." source Hostelworld

"Bathrooms were clean and the showers' water temperature was good." source Hostelworld

"This hostel is clean. And bathroom is clean and good." source Hostelworld

  • Service: Rating of 4.1 out of 5

"I like the location and service of the hostel." source Hostelworld

  • Location: Rating of 4.0 out of 5

"Decent place, good bar downstairs, pretty quiet during sleeping hours, but it borders a very bad neighborhood, so keep that in mind. Also, just in case you have a car, expect to pay out the nose in this neighborhood." source Hostelworld

"The most annoying thing was there was nowhere to hang your stuff in the shower, but not a big deal when the hostel is well located (can walk everywhere." source Hostelworld

"Gas town is a cool area, and the cambie pub downstairs was always lively with heaps of people and cheap food and beer (food was awesome." source Hostelworld

"I thought it was a good hostel although I did see a mouse in the kitchen/common room area which I think needs to be sorted out." source Hostelworld

"Pros: Great location Great Value Nice Staff Bar downstairs Cons - Mouse in room Noise from Bar downstairs (Bring earplugs)." source Hostelworld

  • Value

"Not a bad hostel - definitely the best value we found with the cheapest private doubles." source Hostelworld

"Parking from 6pm to 10am only cost me 6 bucks." source Hostelworld

"good for the price." source Hostelworld

  • Room

"The only problem was when we stayed in the en-suite room from around 7am-afternoon (it didnt happen a night) a noise like a rat or a bird trapped in the fan scared us out of the bathroom." source Hostelworld

"The common room is good, too, with TV and couches. The area is noisy, but not too bad, as even though I'm a light sleeper I was fine in a room facing onto the street." source Hostelworld

"Entry swipe cards that rarely work, phones out of order, showers with no changing areas and a minute kitchen and common room." source Hostelworld

"However, no noise getting to the room, so when youre tired, you can just get back to your room and sleep." source Hostelworld

"not all rooms have the big beds in it like i expected but other than that no complains." source Hostelworld
