"Accomodation adequate, good clean indoor pool." source Venere

  • Service: Rating of 3.9 out of 5

"not very friendly staff, kept coming into room without knocking (at least 4 times over 3 days) there is no way of getting anything to eat or hot drinks (no snack bar, no room service) unless you eat at the restaurant which is extremely expensive." source Venere

"Nice hotel, with a first rate restaurant and service although very high end -- the pictures make it looks like its out in the country but its in the middle of the town." source Venere

"Once in the restaurant the service was exemplary, but we were ignored for ages while on the patio taking an aperitif - and waited an hour for our booked table." source Venere

"The hotel was advertised as 4 star, but the services offered were certainly NOT." source Venere

"The service is as you would expect of a top flight restaurant, excellent." source Venere

  • Location: Rating of 4.1 out of 5

"They are located a good ways out of town, so this can be a big inconvenience if you're hungry and don't want to leave (again) to get a small supper." source Venere

"However, when we left the lounge area we passed another guess/staff member (." source Venere

  • Value

"The breakfast wasn't worth a quarter of the price we had to pay for." source Venere

"Altogether a memorable experience at a very reasonable price." source Venere

  • Room: Rating of 4.3 out of 5

"Later, after dinner, when enjoying a quite cup of tea in the bar, whilst no-one else was there, so no-one was smoking, a couple came in but since they brought their two highly excited dogs with them (having fetched them from their room), we promptly left." source Venere

"Very impressive place - we had a big room and it certainly was (it was bigger than my last flat) although would have personally rather had a balcony than a dressing room." source Venere

"Only disappointment with room was lack of ventilation. Bedroom situated between lobby and sitting room and no fan / air conditioning fitted." source Venere

"The rooms at L'Assiette were excellent. We were rewarded a free night because we had dined in the Dining Room." source Venere

"I also moved to a different hotel after only one night, because the room was very noisy." source Venere

More information on L'Assiette Champenoise

About 3km (1 3/4 miles) southwest from Reims in the suburb of Tinqueux, this is the second-best hotel and restaurant in the area. Built in the 1970s among century-old trees, it occupies part of a former Norman estate, standing in a 1.6-hectare (4-acre) park. The well-maintained rooms are attractively furnished in a mix of French traditional and modern style; bathrooms have tub/shower combinations. Many visitors come here just for the rustic dining room. Chef Arnaud Lallement's cuisine covers a medley of classics, some with an innovative twist. Try John Dory with ragout of vegetables, suckling veal with seven vegetables, or grilled duck liver with fondue of tomatoes. Homemade foie gras is always a reliable starter. Facilities: Restaurant; bar; indoor pool; laundry service; limited-mobility rooms Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
