"Even though it's a bit of a drive from Yosemite Park, the Bug Hostel is one of the best hostels I've stayed in, the staff are a great help, very nice, the cafe/restaurant is very good and reasonably priced, I would definitely recommend it for other travellers, thank you Bug Rustic hostel." source Hostelworld

More information on Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort

Twenty-five miles from Yosemite Valley, the Bug is a cross between a mountain lodge and summer camp, complete with a big sun deck and swimming hole. Accommodations are simply but pleasantly furnished (even the tent cabins have real beds and linens) and come in multiple configurations: antique-filled private cabins with bathrooms, B&B-style private rooms with shared bathrooms in the main lodge, Yosemite-style wood-frame tent cabins, and campsites. The on-site Cafe at the Bug serves good California-American fare -- seared yellowtail tuna with a sesame crust, roast pork with almonds and cilantro -- along with beer, wine, vegan dishes, and box lunches to go. The cafe also doubles as the lodge's communal lounge. Other perks include hiking trails on the property, a game room with a pool table, a kitchen for hostel guests, and organized outings. Facilities: Restaurant; bike rentals; game room; wireless Internet; coin-op laundry Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Directions

The Yosemite Bug has its own bus stop at the end of our 1/4 mile road on Highway 140. Using Amtrak you can catch the Amtrak bus that runs from the connecting train into Yosemite Valley. This bus is part of the YARTS (Yosemite area region transit system) that has five busses stop en-route and return from Yosemite and Merced. We recommend booking Amtrak directly to Yosemite and hit us on the way in or out of the Park.Greyhound still works well but there are layover times in its Merced Station of up the four hours for the YARTS busses. We also sponsor California Parlor Car Tours who run directly from San Francisco for $90.00 roundtrip. This is slightly more than the above, but there are no stops and it is much quicker.
