Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have now moved to Sim's Cozy Garden Hostel. Sim(Singaporean) and Maki(Japanese) have built up a new 'home away from home' for fellow backpackers. After having been travellers for many years and with 4 years' experience running Sim's Cozy Guesthouse, we think we understand more about backpackers' needs. The location and the facilities at Sim's Cozy Garden Hostel, not to mention our and our staff's warmth, show that we truly know something about being on the road. From the main road in front of Sim's Cozy Garden Hostel, there are buses going directly to the Panda Breeding Center, Chengdu Railway Station, Chengdu Tourist Transport Center (XinNanMen Bus Terminal) and many other tourist sites in Chengdu. On top of that: many banks (including Bank of China), a post office, hospitals, supermarkets and many local restaurants are within easy walking distance.Sim could not create an atmosphere, which we call 'Sim's Magic', without a peaceful garden. This magic will help you to relax and enjoy your stay; many people stay longer than expected. Sim's Cozy Garden Hostel has plenty of room where you'll be able to socialize with fellow travellers. We have a Chinese country style garden with a cottage made of wood and straw right above a pond, surrounded by a small river filled with fish and next to a small waterfall. You will also find an area with bamboo folding chairs where you can relax and read or exchange books. Families travelling with children will enjoy the carefully designed playground with some lovely pets.We have all the facilities you wish to find in a guesthouse, and all of them are well designed. We have a cozy movie room with wide screen TV and DVD player, a bar to meet new friends and a family style restaurant serving both Chinese and Western food. We also provide a large covered area for your laundry and, of course, an Internet area with free wireless connection. Our rooms are efficiently designed with plenty of storage space for your luggage. All of the dorm rooms have private toilet and shower, and there are shelves beside every bed. All the rooms with aircomditioner but some need to pay extra charge to turn on the airconditioner.Last but not least, the staff are always friendly and considerate to travellers. We always try our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Directions

By Public TransportFrom Chengdu's North Railway Station:From the station's southwest bus terminal, take bus number 65 and get off at South SanYouLu Road bus stop. From here, walk ahead for two minutes until you see a petrol station on your right-hand side (or a big crossing before you), then turn right and keep walking for another 50 meters, after which you will see the hostel on the right-hand side. Look out for its huge Chinese-style wooden gate and lantern.Alternatively, again from the station's southwest bus terminal, take bus No. 34 and get off at Yi Huan Lu Bei Si Duan(North Section 4, First Ring Rd.) bus stop. Here you will see a hospital on the opposite side of the street and a China Petrol Station on the opposite corner. Please go to the China Petrol Station, and follow the direction where the bus 34 comes from. You will find the guesthouse (look out for its huge Chinese-style wooden gate and lantern) on your right-hand side. From Xinnanmen Bus Terminal:Take bus number 28 and get off at Yi Huan Lu, Bei Si Duan(North Section 4, Frist Ring Rd. ), and walk ahead (west) for around 20 meters. You will find the guesthouse (look out for the huge Chinese-style wooden gate and lantern) on your right-hand side.By Airport ShuttleCheaper optionWhen you exit the airport building, look for the public transport service bus 300 terminal, which you will find just after walking under the flyover. When you come out of the airport building, Airport Bus 303 is directly in front of you. But don't get this one! Walk beyond Airport Bus 303 towards the north-east for around 90 metres, and you will see Bus 300. This bus runs from Chengdu Airport to the North Railway Station. Get off at the last stop, then cross the street and walk back for around 2 minutes, and take bus number 28 or 34. Get off at LiangJiaXiang bus stop, where you will see a hospital behind the stop and a Bank of China branch on the opposite side of the street. Cross the street to the bank side, then walk left (east) for around 500 meters. You will find the hostel (look out for its huge Chinese-style wooden gate and lantern) on your left-hand side.More expensive optionAlternatively, when you come out of the airport building, the Airport Bus 303 is right in front of you. It is also possible to take this bus to the city centre and take a taxi from there (about CNY14) to the hostel.By CarIf you are planning to take a taxi from the airport, the guesthouse can arrange a car to pick you up for around the same price as a public taxi - this will make it easier for you to find the guesthouse and remove any worries that you could be cheated. If you arrive in the daytime (06:30 to 22:30) the guesthouse will charge CNY50 per vehicle, and in the nighttime (22:30 to 06:30) it will charge CNY60 per vehicle.
