Location. The Buccaneer resort, located in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, is tucked on 340 hilly acres that lie between a tranquil lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. The Estate Little Princess ruins are positioned four miles away, while the Salt River Bay National Park & Ecological Preserve is located 11 miles from the resort. Hotel Features. This resort has been family owned since it opened in 1948. The property boasts three separate beaches, including Whistler Beach that can only be accessed by pathway. An offshore reef offers swimming and snorkeling conditions at Grotto Beach. Complimentary scuba diving lessons are taught at an adjacent freeform outdoor pool. Snorkeling gear and kayak use is complimentary. The Mermaid restaurant offers salads, sandwiches, wraps, tropical drinks, a children's menu and desserts on Mermaid Beach. Additional resort dining options include The Terrace, an open air venue located in the main Great House. Dinner selections include Salmon Poached in Red Wine and Jerk Conch Fritters. The Grotto Grill offers an American style lunch menu and bar service. Live music is performed at The Terrace Bar. The resort includes an 18 hole championship golf course and eight tennis courts. Guestrooms. The Buccaneer offers 138 guestrooms and family only suites housed within 21 one and two story buildings. Rooms and suites extend onto ocean or mountain view balconies or terraces. Tiled floors and pastel tones are designed to create the feel of the tropics. Rooms are freshened with flowers every day. Bathrooms are stocked with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Rooms are equipped with in room safes. Conveniences include mini fridges. Guestrooms offer DVD players, CD players and VCRs upon request. Expert Tip. A two mile jogging and nature trail with workout stations winds through the resort's 340 acres. Complimentary staff led nature tours occur weekly.

From Christiansted Airport: Approximate distance to the resort is 12 miles. Turn left from the airport and right onto Route 66/Melvin Evans Highway. After the third traffic light, Route 66 becomes Route 70. Turn right at the traffic light located at the bottom of the hill. Enter Christiansted and proceed past the harbor on the left. The road will curve to the right past Fort Christianvern.
