You will find fine clothing, one-of-a-kind jewelry, handsome home accessories, and special keepsakes to remind you of your visit. You can also buy work directly from some artisans in their studios. There are antiques shops, flea markets, and great country auctions, too. Stroll to the waterfront and watch all the boats coming and going. Hike or drive to the top of Mt. Battie for a spectacular view of the harbor, the islands, and the bay. Go to Lake Megunticook and swim in the warm water or just relax on the sandy beach with a picnic lunch. Take a ferry out to Islesboro, Vinalhaven, or North Haven island for the day. If you have a bike, take it along, the roads are perfect for cycling. Go to the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport, or the Transportation Museum in Owls Head. And that is just the beginning.
