The AAA Four-Diamond Governor Hotel is located in downtown Portland, approximately 10 miles from Portland International Airport. Built in 1909, during the prosperous days following the Lewis and Clark Exposition, the hotel is located four blocks from the Pioneer Place Mall and Pioneer Courthouse Square, five blocks from Oregon History Center, seven blocks from Portland Performing Arts Center, and eight blocks from Portland Art Museum. The Rose Garden and Coliseum is half a mile away. The Governor completed a $5 million dollar renovation in early 2005 including all guest rooms and the grand "re-opening" of the Heritage Ballroom which had been unopen to the public for 80 years. One of Portland's finest restaurants, Jake's Grill, is located in the hotel and a Starbucks cafe in adjacent to the lobby.
