The AAA Four-Diamond Governor Hotel is located in downtown Portland, approximately 10 miles from Portland International Airport. Built in 1909, during the prosperous days following the Lewis and Clark Exposition, the hotel is located four blocks from the Pioneer Place Mall and Pioneer Courthouse Square, five blocks from Oregon History Center, seven blocks from Portland Performing Arts Center, and eight blocks from Portland Art Museum. The Rose Garden and Coliseum is half a mile away. The Governor completed a $5 million dollar renovation in early 2005 including all guest rooms and the grand "re-opening" of the Heritage Ballroom which had been not open to the public for 80 years. One of Portland's finest restaurants, Jake's Grill, is located in the hotel and a Starbucks coffee located in the hotel lobby. The hotel also offers access to a newly renovated full service fitness club available 24 hours a day, complimentary weekday newspapers, 24-hour room service, concierge service, valet parking (nominal daily fee), nightly turndown service, valet laundry and dry-cleaning services, complimentary shoeshine, and complimentary high-speed Wireless Internet.All rooms have irons and ironing boards, plush terrycloth robes, hair dryers, voicemail, two-line desk phones with data ports, bedside phones, honor bars, and coffee makers.
