Built in typical island style, the Indian Resort and Spa is set in 11 hectares of parkland and gardens on a kilometre stretch of white sandy beach. It is situated at the foot of Le Morne mountain on Mauritius' south west coast, 50 kilometres from Mauritius airport. Spread over two floors, the 349 air conditioned guestrooms have light decor inspired by Indian, marine and mountain environments. All have tiled floors, modern furnishings and colourful fabrics, and include satellite TV, direct dial phones, hairdryers, safes, Internet access and minibars. All inclusive and half board rates are available. The hotel has three swimming pools and an entertainment programme operates throughout the day with activities including theatre, cinema, parlour games, group games and excursions of the surrounding area. The Dolphin thalassotherapy spa includes a hydrotherapy pool, jet showers, balneotherapy cabins, massage cabins, sauna, hammam and hair salon. Facilities are free of charge for those paying for treatments. Therapies include lymphatic drainage, facials, and shiatsu and aromatherapy massages facials. As well as seven restaurants serving European and Asian cuisine, the hotel has five bars including the main hotel bar, a wine bar, English sports style bar with snooker tables, and a disco bar. There is also waiter service at the beach for snacks and cool drinks. Sports facilities on site include three floodlit tennis courts, volleyball, badminton, football, table tennis and billiards. The hotel leisure centre offers bowling and slot machines. There is a kids' club for 3 to 12 year olds with its own clubhouse and pool; for 13 to 17 year olds, the teenagers' club organises activities including sports tournaments and boat trips. At the beach complimentary water sports include water skiing, kayaks and pedal boats. Windsurfing, diving and fishing trips are available for a surcharge, and the hotel also has an onsite kite surfing centre (surcharge). The best way to get from the airport to the hotel is by taxi. A taxi should cost approximately USD 60. A hire car would be useful to explore the island.
