More information on One Aldwych

Just east of Covent Garden, this government-rated five-star hotel occupies the classic-looking 1907 building that served as headquarters for the now-defunct Morning Post. Before its conversion in 1998, all but a fraction of its interior was gutted and replaced with an artfully simple layout. Although a first-rate hostelry in every way, it lacks the cutting-edge chic of the Covent Garden Hotel . The bedrooms are sumptuous, decorated with elegant linens and rich colors, and accessorized with raw-silk curtains, deluxe furnishings, and electrical outlets that can handle both North American and European electrical currents. Bathrooms boast full tubs and showers, plus luxurious toiletries. There are original works of art and bespoke furniture in every room along with fresh fruit and flowers supplied daily. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday movies are shown in the screening room. Guests can purchase a package that includes a meal in the restaurant, a glass of champagne, and the movie. Facilities: 2 restaurants; 3 bars; indoor heated pool; health club; spa; sauna; screening room; concierge; room service; massage; babysitting; laundry service; same-day dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; rooms for those w/limited mobility Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
