Built in 1894 as the first deluxe hotel in Rome, the St. Regis Grand Hotel, Rome is within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Via Veneto. Upon reopening in mid-December 1999, after an extensive restoration and renovation, the St. Regis Grand Hotel, Rome reclaimed its status as the finest hotel in Rome and one of the best in the world. This honor has been re-emphasized by recently being named to CondA Nast Traveler's 2005 Gold List. As a focal point of Rome's diplomatic and political life, we are proud to host many national and international dignitaries, heads of state, business executives, and widely known celebrities.Enjoy a unique dining experience at our Vivendo Restaurant, the number one restaurant in Rome nominated by Zagat, and the Gold Key award winner for design and dAcor. All the bedrooms are furnished in a "Barocco" style, in gold and pastel green colours, with carpeted floors and antiques. Each of them has a different hand-painted fresco showing a Roman scene and features Murano glass chandeliers.

Directions

From Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO): Distance to St. Regis Grand Hotel is 26 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes' drive. Getting there. The Leonardo Express runs between the airport and the Termini train station in the city centre every 30 minutes. The journey time is about 35 minutes and single tickets cost 9.50 EUR. The Terravision shuttle bus runs between the airport and Termini station. Guests can take a taxi to the hotel or the metro to Repubblica station. Airport taxis to the city centre cost about 60 EUR, and taking a metered licensed taxi is advised. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. The St. Regis Grand Hotel is located on Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, two blocks from Via Veneto. Rome's historic city centre is easy to explore on foot, as many attractions are located close together. The city has an efficient public transport system, including trams, buses, suburban trains, and metro (underground). Tickets can be purchased from tobacconists and ATAC ticket machines, and should be bought prior to boarding. Single tickets cost 1 EUR, and are valid for 75 minutes, covering one metro trip and unlimited bus travel. Driving in the city centre is not advised for visitors. Parking is available at the hotel (surcharge).
