  • Overall: Rating of 3.2 out of 5

"The hotel is quiet close to a black neighbourhood , not really in the city centre & the price quoted to me was including breakfast , when i spoke with the reception manager he said breakfast not included & i had to pay additional 7 euros which is not too fair , Overall the room was good with the bathroom , but the receptionist never spoke good english & not good warm welcome." source Venere

"It has lots of noise, lack of hot water, a little bit dirty and seriously weathered, so I would not recommend the experience." source Venere

"My overall impression is, expensive single room for the facilities offered." source Venere

  • Clean: Rating of 3.4 out of 5

"The room was nicely done up and clean, but there was NO LOCK on the door, and the hallways were dimly lit - it did not feel safe at all, and when we informed the desk staff that there was no second lock, they didn't care." source Hostelworld

"the room was very spacious and bathroom was good size, room wasnt immaculate but was nothing to complain about." source Hostelworld

"Unlikely but if you're on a budget this place ticks the boxes & was surprisingly comfortable & clean - despite some of the previous reviews." source Venere

"My room was clean and quiet and the location excellent as I wanted to be close to the Gare du Midi." source Venere

"Good location (near Gare du Midi station, 15 minutes walking from old town), clean rooms and very good showers." source Hostelworld

  • Service: Rating of 3.3 out of 5

"One of the staff is very reluctant providing service, including hiring taxi." source Venere

"in a bit of a dodgy area but close walking distance to the main station." source Hostelworld

"Very close to Brussels-Midi but the area is not so good." source Hostelworld

"kind of a gross hotel, not that clean and in a shady neighborhood." source Venere

"Location is a fair way away from the action." source Hostelworld

  • Room: Rating of 3.0 out of 5

"Hotel with large rooms, a nice decoration but still under construction, a lit of bit noisy, to close to two big streets, the cleanliness is not the strenght of the hotel, but still a cheap and relatively confortable place." source Hostelworld

"Did the job but minimal effort from staff and when we arrived, our room looked like someone was still in it, meaning we couldn't leave our things there." source Hostelworld

"I canceled the rest of the booked days and went to a nearby hotel withour a star, with a small room, window to the back yard, very quiet, same cleanliness as before, but to my suprise only 45 EUR (instead of 60 EUR for de France)." source Venere

"To see Brussels The rooms was OK." source Venere

"Nice hotel, good place to stay for a private room we were only there one night so served our purposes." source Hostelworld

Ashridge House in Ashridge Estate Grand Union Canal, totem pole reportedly charmed with mystical fertility symbols! Outside the museum with Quenten Blake-bright doors and the BFG greeting you from the window. This is me (appropriately dressed in "kid clothes") about to enter Mathildas library.
