In the heart of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, historic Chamounix Mansion has welcomed overnight guests and groups for nearly forty years. Originally built in 1802 as a country home, the mansion rests on a scenic bluff above the Schuylkill River and is convenient to Philadelphia's cultural and historic attractions, sporting events, and restaurants.Chamounix (CHAM'-ah-nee) Mansion provides clean, inexpensive accommodations for individuals, families, and groups. The hostel also offers meeting rooms with kitchen/dining areas for workshops, retreats, and events. Nestled in a wooded setting, the hostel offers a welcoming front porch and two communal rooms restored to 1850 and furnished with antiques. A marble fireplace graces the 19th-Century parlour and a wonderful mural of the historic Water Works on the Schuylkill River can be found in the main hallway.Amenities include a video library, vending machines, a recreation room with piano and foosball. You can use our free bikes to explore Fairmount Park, stroll to Belmont Plateau to see one of the best views of Philadelphia's skyline, play tennis nearby, BBQ in our picnic area or just relax on Chamounix's pristine grounds.Hostel hours: 8:00 - 11:00am and 4:30 - 2am(curfew)

From Philadelphia City Centre -Take SEPTA bus #38 on Market Street between 5th and 13th Streets, or on JFK Boulevard between 15th and 20th Streets. Get off at Ford and Cranston Roads. Continue walking down Ford, turn left at the Stop Sign under the Stone Bridge onto Chamounix Drive, and then walk to the end (about a mile walk).From center city PhiladelphiaTake I-76/Schuylkill Expressway West to Exit 339, City Ave/Route 1 South. NOTE, this is a left-side exit! Stay on City Avenue approximately 1 mile . Turn left on Belmont Avenue. First light, left on Ford Road. Stay on Ford Road half a mile, go through stone tunnel to stop sign, left at stop sign onto Chamounix Drive. Chamounix Mansion is on the circle at the end of the drive. Welcome! From New York CityDrive South on the New Jersey Turnpike. Get off at Exit 4, then drive north on NJ 73. Take that to NJ 38 West, to NJ 30 West, and over the Ben Franklin Bridge. Take I-676 West Take I-76/Schuylkill Expressway West to Exit 339, City Ave/Route 1 South. NOTE, this is a left-side exit! Stay on City Avenue approximately 1 mile. Turn left on Belmont Avenue.
