The decor here is Chinese -- you'll find Chinese lanterns, parasols, screens, and artwork, plus a Chinese garden and pagoda -- mixed with Western steakhouse. The food, however, is strictly Chinese, prepared by Chinese chefs. We particularly enjoyed the moo goo gai pan and Szechuan pork. Several items on the menu are marked hot, and reliable locals informed us they are to be believed! In all, the menu includes some 50 items, including a dozen vegetarian options. Wine and beer are available, but not liquor. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Chaotic traffic crowds a level crossing as our train rattles through. An emaciated woman carrying sticky rice parcels wrapped in banana leaves prepares to board the train from a small village station. Young Burmese sit by the open door and watch the scenery roll past outside. This was the only part of the train that wasn't sweltering. One of the many incredible golden pagoda structures (stupas) that dot the whole country, rising high above cripplingly poor bamboo villages.
