The Hotel Suraj is a 500 year old Haveli and is the only and biggest residential of its kind in the Jaisalmer Fort. The Haveli is run by a “Vyas Family” (Brahmin Religion) which has been living in the same Haveli for the last 17 generations.Situated in the south east corner of the “Trikuta Hill” the Haveli Hotel Suraj is close by to the world famous Jain Temples. From the roof top restaurant you can enjoy a marvelous 360 degree view of the Jaisalmer Fort and have breakfast, lunch, snacks, tea, coffee or dinner. Hotel service includes: laundry; car, motorbike and cycle rental; newspapers; money exchange; doctor on call; train, bus and air reservations; camel jeep safari booking...There is a shop adjoining the Hotel that offers Internet, Fax, ISD and CD burning.

View from the top of the fort gate A good view of how the fort was built. You can see parts of the city within. Golden city with its majestic fort in all its glory. Tried to catch a sunset over the city but it was to dusty to have a real sunset. Sunset over the desert.
