One of the finest 4-star hotels in the city, the Vineyard has a new modern health and fitness centre, an indoor and outdoor pool, and one of the finest spas in South Africa, offering guests a wide choice of treatments. Arguably one of the most beautiful pool settings in the cape area, the outdoor pool has sun loungers and shade umbrellas, and magnificent undisturbed views of Table Mountain. The gardens around the hotel are beautifully maintained and, along with the pool, make the Vineyard a great place to relax. The hotel offers good security and secure parking. (AHJ 09/08) Originally built in 1799 by Lady Anne Barnard. The Vineyard Hotel and Spa is an admired blend of historical and contemporary design. This 3-storey building nestles discretely in 6 acres of landscaped gardens. Situated in the leafy suburb of Newlands, on the banks of the Liesbeeck River, the Vineyard is just 15 minutes away from the Cape Town City Centre and the popular V&A Waterfront. The Hotel is within easy walking distance of the up-market Cavendish Shopping Centre, and just 15 minutes drive to Cape Town International Airport.

Directions

From Cape Town International Airport (CPT): Distance to the Vineyard Hotel and Spa is 18 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive. Getting there. The easiest way to reach the hotel from the airport is by hire car or taxi. Getting around. Buses and trains run throughout Cape Town but a hire car is the best way for visitors to get around. Most attractions are clearly signposted although parking in the centre can be tricky. Taxis are also available, but can be expensive. Driving directions. From the airport, take the N2 to Cape Town. Follow signs to the M3 Muizenberg. Follow the M3 past the University of Cape Town and Newlands Forest. On reaching the Shell Garage, keep left and follow the road to Claremont. At the roundabout, take the first turning to the left towards Claremont and Protea Road. The hotel is 300 metres up on the left.

RestaurantThe Vineyard has a choice of two first-class restaurants, as well as the fantastic Splash cafe, which is next to the swimming pools and gymnasium. The Square is a wonderful, contemporary restaurant, situated in the centre of the hotel. The glass roof presents superb views of the mountain in a relaxed ambience. It offers an a la carte menu, as well as a sushi bar. In the summer period, breakfast is available in the Garden Lounge or on the patio. Light lunches are served all year round (weather permitting) on the patio.The new Myoga restaurant offers international fusion cuisine. It is stylishly decorated, and attracts guests from outside the hotel.
