Much like the palaces built by the Rajput, upper caste Hindu warrior princes, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur (India) is designed to resemble a minature domed palace said to be "painted to evoke heaven." This 200 year old hunting lodge is know for its large airy treatment suites. The resort's bar offers a wide selection of wines, spirits and cigars. All 63 guestrooms on the first level feature private walled courtyards, silken parasols, table and chairs. Superior deluxe rooms open onto a semi private pool. On the upper floor, luxury suites have private pools, tented dining pavilions and butler service. Udaipur's Dabok airport is 30 kilometers from the resort and the drive takes 45 minutes. Udaipur is well connected to New Delhi and Mumbai with daily flights operated by Jet Airways and Indian Airlines. The flying time from Udaipur to Delhi (via Jaipur) is two hours and thirty five minutes and from Udaipur to Mumbai is one hour and fifteen minutes. Udaipur is also well connected by air to Jaipur with a flying time of slightly more than an hour.
