  • Overall: Rating of 4.3 out of 5

"It definitely lived up to the hype the only thing that was off their tv was not working which kind of spoiled it alittle only if you wanted to relax and watch a good film you couldn't but apart from that 9 out of 10 would go there again." source Hostelworld

"Having travelled throughout Europe and stayed in a number of hostels, the Flying Pig Downtown has proved to be one of the best hostels I\\\'ve stayed in and I would highly recommend it to others." source Hostelworld

"great place to enjoy amsterdam, good location and staff, some things were slightly older/a little run down, tho it has character, and the bar-smoke room are great places to chill." source Hostelworld

"Overall the hostel was good, but not quite as good as we were expecting. Would def recommend for groups going to the Dam for a big wknd." source Hostelworld

"The hostel is overall clean-- smells like weed, but I had a good time and I didn\'t go to Amsterdam to smoke." source Hostelworld

  • Clean: Rating of 3.7 out of 5

"Clean, with friendly personel, good security system, free internet and own bar The only minuses I could find is that most of the people there are US students traveling around Europe in that \"do every city\" style." source Hostelworld

"I stayed in a 4-bed ensuite, and the beds were comfy, the shower was clean, and I REALLY enjoyed hanging out in the bar and smoke room, just meeting all the interesting people." source Hostelworld

"the party atmosphere was actually quite lame, there is always at least a 15-20 minute wait for internet machines, the only upside was that the rooms were clean." source Hostelworld

"It is a fun hostel, but very loud if you want to get some sleep and not very clean at all, especially the bathroom and showers, which were disgusting." source Hostelworld

"My roommates were good, good free breakfast, clean showers, and close to everything you would want in Amsterdam." source Hostelworld

  • Service: Rating of 4.5 out of 5

"Located in the heart of the city, it's got a nice bar, self-service breakfast and it's a really good place to meet people." source Hostelworld

"But the good atmosphere, nice breakfast and friendly staff will probably make me come back here." source Hostelworld

"I am very disappointed in this hostel's service/attempts to cheat me out of money." source Hostelworld

"Loved this Hostel because of the friendly staff and the cats :)." source Hostelworld

"Friendly staff, good music and a great crowd to hang out with." source Hostelworld

  • Location: Rating of 4.8 out of 5

"The bar and smoking area is great place to meet up with other people staying there. The location is good too, only about 5-10min walk from Centraal station, tho it took me about 40mins to find theplace on my first day." source Hostelworld

"Perfect location for staying in Amsterdam. The hostel has a compact little smoking area for those who want to chill, and it\'s an easy place to meet people if you\'re a solo traveller." source Hostelworld

"Perfect location with being near the train station and right by the red light district, but the the flying pig uptown is closer to the heineken experience, I AM-STERDAM and other sites." source Hostelworld

"Bar/Cafe area and the back room were very enjoyable. In Amsterdam, it seems that many hostels lack an area to hang out which is unfortunate, but this place has it right." source Hostelworld

"Location is excelent, pretty close to the Central Station and almost all the main spots in the city are within walking distance." source Hostelworld

  • Value

"I was worried it would be really loud and everyone would be high, but it was actually fine for sleeping and there's a separate "smoking room" attached to the bar so you don't have to deal with that if you don't want to." source Hostelworld

"the downstairs layout was good with nice beer at a low price from the bar, also the smoking room was a real bonus." source Hostelworld

"The bar is very fun (and reasonably priced), and for the most part, the hostel has a good chill environment." source Hostelworld

"Room was in basement so a little dark, but no big deal." source Hostelworld

"Not worth the price, the place is a bit run down." source Hostelworld
