A 19th century three storey Ottoman townhouse located in Istanbul's mid town district, less than 300 metres from the Blue Mosque, the Tashkonak Hotel features 32 guestrooms with contemporary decor in rich colours, hardwood floors and wooden Ottoman style furniture. All guestrooms include cable television, CD players, Internet connections, direct dial telephones and minibars. Bathrooms include baths, showers and hair dryers. Guests can relax with a drink among the hydrangeas in the quiet, walled garden caf� or browse the books in the hotel library. With views of the Blue Mosque and the islands of the Marmara Sea, the hotel's rooftop terrace restaurant offers a range of regional specialities in traditional Turkish surroundings. The 24 hour front desk staff are on hand to provide room service, arrange transport to and from the airport and advise on how to get the most of the local area. Valet parking is available for guests arriving by car. The hotel is located in Istanbul's mid town area, within 750 metres of the restaurants and stalls of the Grand Bazaar. Those interested in Istanbul's history and culture will find the St. Sophia Museum, the Topkapi Museum and the minarets of the Blue Mosque within 500 metres. Istanbul Ataturk Airport is 14 kilometres away and can be reached by car in approximately 20 minutes. The hotel provides airport pickup service for a maximum of three people for 25 EUR; guests must provide flight details in advance.

Directions

There are regular bus services from the airport to the Old Town. A newly built Airport Metro station links to central Istanbul, where the hotel is located. Expect a taxi to cost 15 20 EUR. Driving directions: From the airport, look for signs to Sirkeci and follow the coastal road for 15 kilometres to Sultanahmet. Turn left on Kennedy Caddesi to Aksakal Sokak. Continue for 200 metres and turn right on to Kucuk Ayasofya Street. The hotel is located on the left.
