More information on The Jerusalem Inn Hotel
This is the best, brightest little budget hotel in town, and one of the few inexpensive places to survive the tourism slump. The location is excellent -- on a relatively quiet street, a 3-minute walk from Zion Square and less than 10 minutes from the Old City. Rooms are reached by stairway: Most are compact, but all are well planned, airy (some with small balconies), and are brightened by framed art posters and furnished with comfortably firm beds (high-density foam mattresses on heavy wooden slat frames specially designed by the hotel's owner). The hotel works well for both single travelers and family groups; larger rooms can be arranged for up to four or more people. All rooms have private bathrooms with glass-enclosed stall showers (in this price category, most other hotels offer only shower sprays that flood your entire bathroom). The staff is friendly and very helpful; a hefty breakfast is served. The reception desk and hotel switchboard are only open until 6pm and closed on the Sabbath but arrangements can be made for night and Sabbath check-ins. Tip: For Frommer's readers, owner Miki Azulai offers a special deal: Stay 6 nights and the 7th night is free! Just show your Frommer's book at check in.
