Sheraton Soma Bay Resort

The Sheraton Soma Bay is a modern hotel influenced by the architecture of ancient Egypt, complete with grand monuments and columns, and is situated on 800 metres of sandy beach, 45 kilometres from Hurghada city centre. The 310 guestrooms are decorated in pastel colours with modern oak furnishings and marble floors. All open onto balconies with sea views and include cable television, minibars, telephones with voicemail, safes, ironing boards and slippers. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations, bathrobes, scales, telephones and bidets. Diners can choose from three restaurants: L'Abydos Brasserie serves extensive buffets for breakfast and dinner in modern surroundings; L'Emporio Ristorante offers an a la carte menu with an emphasis on Italian dishes; and Copper Crescent Grill is located on the beachfront and offers specialities from the charcoal grill and pizzas from the wood fired oven. Guests can bronze themselves on the private beach, enjoy cocktails at the poolside bar, and unwind in the sauna and steam room. Children will be kept busy at the kids' club, playground and their very own pool. Active guests can practise their serve on the tennis and squash courts, tone up with aerobics or aqua gym classes, and try their hand at windsurfing or sailing. In the evening, the hotel offers live shows and entertainment. Golfers can enjoy the championship 18 hole course, which was designed by Gary Player. Guests can also don scuba diving gear and explore the coral reefs of Soma Bay, which extend for several kilometres to the southern tip of the peninsula. Business guests can make use of four meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 500 people and can host gala dinners and theme parties.
