Location. The Sheen Falls Lodge is located five kilometres from the centre of Kenmare, Ireland. The subtropical gardens, woods, heather moorland and mountains surrounding the hotel create some unforgettable landscapes. Killarney railway station lies 40 kilometres from the hotel. Hotel Features. Sheen Falls Lodge is a luxury country house hotel on a 300 acre private estate. The Sheen River flows through the grounds in a series of waterfalls. The hotel offers the relaxing and convivial atmosphere of a country manor, with complimentary wireless Internet access, a library and a well stocked wine cellar. The hotel's restaurant La Cascade provides a 'fine dining' experience at Sheen Falls, while Oscars Bar & Bistro is a less formal, nautically themed restaurant serving modern Mediterranean dishes. Both overlook the waterfalls. The Sheen Bar and Sunlounge can offer lunch and afternoon tea in a traditional setting. A full Irish breakfast is also served daily, and the hotel can provide packed lunches and picnics for excursions. The Sheen Falls Lodge is a popular place for business meetings and offers a range of event catering and conference facilities, along with secretarial services and complimentary Internet access throughout the hotel. There are many riverside and woodland walks through the Sheen Falls estate. The stretches of the Sheen River owned by the hotel are restocked for fishing. The hotel has its own swimming pool, health spa and tennis courts, and can organise riding, cycling and golf nearby. Whale and dolphin spotting are popular pastimes off the south west coast. Cork International Airport (ORK): Distance to Sheen Falls Lodge is 97 kilometres, approximately 60 minutes' drive. Getting there. Typical taxi fares from Cork Airport to the Sheen Falls Lodge are approximately 150 200 EUR. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. The local countryside offers walks at all levels of difficulty. A car is recommended for extensive touring. The hotel's vintage car is at guests' disposal for excursions, along with packed lunches or picnics. Driving directions. From Cork Airport, take the N25 ring road signed for Killarney. Continue along the motorway and join the N22 for Killarney. After driving for about 65 kilometres take the R569 for Kenmare, passing through Kilgarvan. In Kenmare town take a left turn at the Post Office. Continue along this route across the suspension bridge and take the first turn left immediately after the bridge for Sheen Falls Lodge.
