For relaxing, CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, features private suites each with its own fireplace, vitality bath tub and separate steam shower. The atmosphere is tranquil and unhurried and the range of treatments is based on ancient healing traditions of China and the Himalayas. For dining, internationally acclaimed three-star Michelin chef and entrepreneur Jean-Georges Vongerichten makes his Canadian debut at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver. MARKET by Jean-Georges is the hotel's signature restaurant, offering four distinct dining areas, Cafe, an outdoor terrace, a fine dining room and a 29 seat bar featuring comfortable high-top chairs. The spacious Lobby Lounge features dramatic two-storey floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a seasonal outdoor terrace and an outdoor art galleria, curated by the Vancouver Art Gallery. Shangri-La's guestrooms and suites range in size from 42 square metres, 450 square feet to 130 square metres, 1,395 square feet. Many feature balconies. Rooms are decorated in a contemporary yet luxurious style with distinct Asian touches. Warm latte tones are enriched by golden hues and offset by darker wood paneling and sleek B and B Italia furniture. Stearns and Foster pillow top mattresses are further enhanced by bedding from D'porthault of Paris. Floor to ceiling windows provide an abundance of natural light and have remote controlled sheers and curtains.
