Location. Locanda Poste Vecie is a traditional 15th century Venetian palace set in the historical centre of Venice, 400 metres from the Grand Canal and one kilometre from Piazza San Marco and Palazzo Ducale. Venice Marco Polo Airport is 14 kilometres away, a 40 minute drive. Hotel Features. Guests of the Locanda Poste Vecie can relax in the air conditioned public areas, with a typically Venetian ambiance featuring lacquered furnishings and precious fabrics. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can advise on the surrounding area and the best sights to see in Venice. The restaurant, Antica Trattoria Poste Vecie, was founded in 1500 and serves traditional Venetian dishes, as well as international food accompanied by fine wines, in an elegant setting with original frescos and a fireplace. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining in the garden during the summer months. Guestrooms. The 12 guestrooms feature18th century Venetian style decor with rich fabrics and refined furnishings. All offer air conditioning, televisions, direct dial phones, minibar, desks and climate control.Expert Tip. One kilometre from the hotel is one of the most famous squares in the world, Piazza San Marco, with its basilica and arcades of the Procuratie Vecchie. Also one kilometre away is the ninth century Palazzo Ducale, the official residence of the doges and seat of the republic's government.

Directions

Getting there.A regular waterboat service and water taxis run from the airport to Venice. There are scheduled bus services to Padua, Mestre and Venice. Guests can take ACTV bus number 5 or shuttle ATVO for Venezia Piazzale Roma. Then take vaporetto number 1 or number 82 towards San Marco / Rialto to the stop at Rialto. From Rialto turn left, cross the bridge and continue to the Fish Market in Campo delle Beccarie where the hotel is located. Venice Mestre railway station is connected to the airport by a bus service that runs every 20 minutes. The easiest way to get around Venice is on foot, by vaporetto (public water bus) or water taxi.
