The Schlossberg Hotel attracts a sophisticated level of clientele from many countries. The tranquil location affords many outdoor activities and just a few steps away is the famous castle plus many estates of Germany*s wealthiest people. The center of Munich is easily accessible by car or the rapid S-Bahn from Starnberg, a few minutes from the hotel. Guests have the great advantage of enjoying very spacious and deluxe accommodation at about half the cost of city hotels in extraordinary surroundings. It is situated directly on the shore of scenic Starnberg Lake, near one of Ludwig*s IIS castles. The setting is of quiet and elegance in a forest of century-old trees, mansions, and country estates. Walking and biking trails invite one to delightful outings in the countryside. The hotel bikes are available free of charge. During the warm months, cruise ships stop frequently at the hotels dock. Facilities are exceptionally spacious and attractive. Most rooms have private outside terraces and floor to ceiling picture windows with views of lake or mountainside. The lakeside restaurant is famous in the region for its gourmet cuisine at modest prices. A typical Bavarian beirstube pub supplements the more formal restaurant. In nice weather year round, the lakeside terrace is a favorite place for a meal of coffee or a beer in the wonderful biergarten.
