The newly renovated Hotel Derek is a business friendly, smoke-free property adjacent to the Galleria shopping and Uptown entertainment district. Hotel Derek is only five miles from Rice University, six miles from downtown Houston, and 30 miles from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport.Hotel amenities include the hotel's restaurant, bistro moderne, offering french cuisine, Derek's Bar, 24-hour fitness center, pool with waterfall, and day-spa treatments, which are available upon special arrangement. The Derek Mobile, a black stretch SUV, offers complimentary transportation to business meetings or shopping. The hotel's 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space can accommodate from up to 500 people. The Rogue boardroom overlooks the pool and features a 21-foot table and red-leather executive chairs. The Great Room has a built-in bar and a plasma-screen fireplace. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available throughout. Each guestroom is equipped with flat screen tv, air-conditioning, minibar, CD player/stereos (CD library available), iron/ironing boards, bathrobes, hairdryers, coffeemakers, beds with 100% goose-down duvet, and safes. A fax, printer, DVD player, and VCR are available on request. There is a $20 charge for a rollaway bed for an extra person.
