"Small, cramped smelly dorm rooms, nothing special but great location right on the green T line. No real social space - the dining room was full of people typing away 24/7 and I was actually afraid to say a word in there, more like a work space than a social space." — source Hostelworld
"Room was stuffy and smelled like a gym locker room. Quite small room with hardly enough room to move between bed and lockers especially when others were in the room with you." — source Hostelworld
"It's pretty run-down and cramped and some rooms are really closed-up (you can barely open a window in some rooms, so they smell like the inside of a sneaker) and there's NO environmental-mindedness." — source Hostelworld

No, it is not ill, nor is it giving up its blue and white logo; we are becoming more environmentally friendly! HI-Bostons eco-program will afford our staff and guests the opportunity to become better stewards of the earth and its resources. At HI Boston you will find great recycling stations, energy efficient lighting and appliances, low VOC paint, recyclable carpet, low-flow plumbing, environmental-friendly cleaning products, and motivational signs as reminders to be good stewards of the earth. We are going beyond the traditional way of thought for conservation and recycling! When guests check in, they receive a pair of complementary flip flops for the shower. In the past, some guests threw these flip flops in the trash when they checked out. In an effort to think outside-the-box, we recently implemented a program that allows us to collect the used sandals, sanitize them and donate them to local shelters for reuse. Just like our linen, the future of our Green HI-Boston looks bright! ***************************************************************************Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization, promoting peace through hostelling since 1909.
