Location. Located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the elegant Occidental El Embajador is located three miles from where Columbus' expeditions established the New World's first city. El Conde shops are less than five kilometers from this hotel. Hotel Features. The hotel's restaurants offer an admirable introduction. El Jardin del Embajador provides intimate indoor seating or outdoor dining beneath the shade of the banyan trees. This fine dining venue serves sumptuous lamb, sea bass and shrimp dishes with Dominican flair. Los Porches offers poolside ambience under a beamed ceiling with brick wall accents. The pool bar and Colonial Bar serve coffee drinks and tropical coolers. An on site bakery also offers breads and pastries. The hotel includes an on site business center, high technology services and ample conference space. An expansive pool is surrounded by a sundeck with padded lounge chairs for sunbathing. A small casino is on site. A small fitness center near the pool includes a sauna, steam room, and four person spa tub. Massage services are available for a fee. Guestrooms. The Occidental El Embajador's 286 guestrooms feature large balconies with garden or sea views. Blue and yellow fabrics, sand colored walls and black colonial style furniture create a dramatic effect.
