"when i asked the staff where the money changer was (since it was on Sunday and we thought that the forex was closed) , one of the staff (curly hair,woman) answered not in a friendly way :( anyway,instead just giving us the direction, you could show us on the big map as well (but you didn\'t) however, overall, i enjoyed my staying there." — source Hostelworld

"The staff, although they seem a little overworked, try very hard to keep everyone happy, the beds are nice and comfy, the rooms are kept very clean (they seem to clean them every day) you get lockers, a little kitchen in the room, free internet, and a very good location for exploring Oslo." — source Hostelworld

Location. The Anker Hostel is a simple, modern property located in Oslo city centre, just 700 metres from the main thoroughfare of Karl Johan Street, the Cathedral and Botanical Gardens. Oslo Gardermoen Airport is located 50 kilometres away, a 40 minute drive. Hotel Features.Guests can start the day with breakfast services (surcharge), and the bar and coffee shop serve a selection of beverages. Further amenities include multilingual staff at front desk, Internet connections (surcharge) and laundry facilities. During the summer months the Anker Hostel offers guided tours, barbecues and other activities. The Anker Hostel offers simple meals in the relaxed setting of the bar, complete with Internet, games and television.Guestrooms. The 115 guestrooms have simple, light decor with functional wood furnishings, and include kitchenettes with cookware, dishes and refrigerators, and bathrooms with showers and makeup mirrors.Expert Tip. The Munch Museum is 700 metres away and is dedicated to the life and works of Edvard Munch. Two kilometres away is the medieval Akershus Fortress and Castle, which was built by King Hakon V around 1300.

Directions
Getting there.The Bus Express runs to Groland Busterminal, a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The Airport Express train takes 20 minutes from the airport to the Central Train Station Square, 700 metres from the hotel. Trams and buses run regularly from Central Station to the hotel. Alternatively taxis are readily available and cost 550 NOK to hotel. Buses and trams provide transport to the main tourist attractions. Driving directions.From the airport take the E18 and follow signs for Gjovik. After the Radisson SAS turn left at the first traffic circle/roundabout. At the next traffic lights turn right turn onto Christian Krogh's Street. Continue to the end and the Anker Hotel Best Western is straight ahead. At the entrance to the hotel are signs for the Anker Hostel.
