The B&B “La Canonica di Fungaia” is located 7 km. from Siena, on a hill (400 mt). The small XIII century church and untouched nature frame the historical villa that is surrounded by a three hectares park with a spectacular view of Siena and the lower valley.The house is an ancient historical villa, the building dates back to 1200, beautifully restored on 2001 in harmony with the original structure, while introducing every possible comfort for guests. Tuscany taste is evident in the choice of antique furnishings and the care in maintaining the character of the old house with its terracotta floors and beamed ceilings.There are five bedrooms of varying sizes each with a private full bath. The common areas include a generous sized living room; a formal Tuscan style dining room and a lovely breakfast room with direct access to the outdoor garden.The villa is surrounded by a three hectares park. There are a beautiful swimming pool equipped with garden umbrella, deck-chairs and hammocks; a large flowered garden; a generous vine covered pergola for lounging; many private corners for sunbathing and taking in the views.Immediately beyond, our guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Nearby there are several horse stables. “La Canonica di Fungaia” is only 7 km. from Siena, Monteriggioni and Chiantigiana road, only three of the many local attractions a short distance away. The owners know all the exceptional restaurants and will suggest wonderful day trips if you need assistance: less than one hour away there are Firenze, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and many others interesting sights.
