The Residence San Giorgio is a unique hotel located right in the center of famous Matera's Sassi, in southern Italy. This cosy 3-star hotel is housed in two 18th century buildings, situated 100 meters from the central Piazza del Sedile and 200 meters from the marvellous Cisterns of Piazza Vittorio Veneto. From the hotel guests will discover the enchanting and distinctive architecture of Matera's Sassi, where art and cultural shows and summer music festivals take place all year round. Only 30 minutes from Matera guests will find the beautiful beaches of Metaponto. Hotel Residence San Giorgio offers completely refurbished spacious suites equipped with all comforts, as well as wireless Internet connection at the reception, a bar and laundry service. Reception is open from 3.30 p.m. until 8.30 p.m.

Directions

From Pisa Airport (PSA): Distance to La Locanda di San Martino is 140 kilometres, approximately 115 minutes' drive. Getting there. There are trains available from Pisa station to Siena railway station, one kilometre from the hotel. Getting around. Central Siena is a medieval town, with narrow streets, some of which are pedestrianised and best explored on foot. Scooters are popular. Buses are available out of the city to surrounding sites, and trains go to the larger cities. Driving directions. From Pisa Airport, head south on Via Dell'Aeroporto, following signs to A1/Roma. Merge onto the Strada Pisa Livorno. Take the exit onto the A12/E80 toward Pisa. Take the exit onto the A11/E76 toward Firenze. Take the exit onto the A1 toward Roma, and then the exit Firenze Certoza toward Firenze. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Autostrada toward Siena. Take the Siena exit. Merge onto the SS222 and, at the first roundabout, take the first exit onto Via Fiorentina. Continue on this road until it becomes Viale Don Giovanni Minzoni. Turn right at Viale Lippo Memmi, right at Via Domenico Beccafumi, left at Via Domenico Beccafumi, and right at Via Baldassare Peruzzi, onto Via di San Martino, where the hotel is found.
