"Overall our stay was very nice." source Venere

  • Clean: Rating of 3.5 out of 5

"Breakfast was good, personell was kind, the room was wide and clean, and the price was cheap." source Venere

"Noisy from main road at front of hotel but very friendly staff and clean rooms/facilities." source Venere

"Clean room, bathroom bit dirty but well,in general was really great." source Venere

"I thought the place to be clean and comfortable otherwise." source Venere

"very small rooms and not very clean." source Venere

  • Service: Rating of 3.5 out of 5

"Extremely friendly welcome and very helpful staff." source Venere

  • Location: Rating of 3.9 out of 5

"What counted for us was the central location of the hotel. For that we accepted the price (which might be not even high in comparison with other hotels in the same area) and the considerably small room with shower but without private toilet." source Venere

"It was a little noisy being on a busy street in a highly populated area, but that fact also made it very convenient to the underground and shops." source Venere

"The location is relly convenient regarding underground, St Pancras Int station and Oxfrod Street." source Venere

"The Hotel is near at the tube and located in a beautiful area." source Venere

"Very good breakfast and the price is good for the location." source Venere

  • Value

"The price may be considered high, since rooms of 3 or 4 stars hotels are available at the same price when reservation is performed sooner." source Venere

"Otherwise, the Garth was a very good value." source Venere

  • Room: Rating of 2.3 out of 5

"in general a very nice place, although it was impossible to get our room less hot and the sound of the traffic was going on all night. next time I go for the room that has a door to the garden (why did nobody in the hotel tell us to go and sit there." source Venere

"Lock on room door was temperamental, bed was uncomfy, it was noisy all night and I could hear every word (and the rest) that was said in the next room. Room was tiny and no tea/coffee making facilities as promised." source Venere

"Old style inside, rooms renovated but somehow 'mixed' together with stuff. Ensuite in a 3 bed-room too small to even dry yourself while having the door closed." source Venere

"A small but cozy room; nice hospitality; good breakfast. Our room faced a street that remained busy thoughout the night, so was quite noisy." source Venere

"Avoid basic rooms, avoid rooms on the street because the windows are old and you hear all noises of the street." source Venere

More information on Garth

The Garth Hotel is located in the center of London, surrounded by the delightful squares and leafy parks which typify Bloomsbury. This area was, and still is, home to London's intellectual classes, and this central Bloomsbury hotel is only a short stroll from London University's most prestigious institutions, such as the Warburg Institute, Senate House and Birbeck College, as well as the British Museum. Like many of the academics which frequent this area of the city, this historical 18th-century Georgian town house has its own eccentric and original character. Guests on a weekend break or visiting the University will enjoy the numerous paintings, photographs and prints in the hotel, which create a unique atmosphere and give away the owner's previous job as a collector of antiques. The reception is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and there is abundant tourist information available in the lobby.
