Comprising four Victorian houses set on fashionable Florida Road, Quarters is a classy, boutique-style guest lodge -- the best-dressed joint in town. Walls feature striking black-and-white photographs of South African life by Angela Shaw. All rooms are relatively spacious and have queen-size sleigh beds, and are double-glazed to eliminate neighborhood noise, though this is scant protection from the sound of the person above flushing his/her toilet -- ask for a room on one of the top floors. Bathrooms are big and well designed; specify shower or bathtub. The Brasserie has a small but good menu; alternatively, some 30 restaurants lie within a 5km (3-mile) radius, many within walking distance.
