An excellent hotel, renowned in the area for its warmth of hospitality and traditional values. The hotel proudly opened a very impressive state of the art leisure complex in 2000. (06/07rt) This is an extremely attractive traditional hotel set in exquisite gardens. The building is white with wooden frames around the windows. The hotel derives its name from the Irish 'ard oilean' (high island), a picturesque island on nearby Lough Corrib. It stands in extensive grounds convenient to the city and its seaside suburb, Salthill. The location is also convenient to the main trunk routes from all major cities, airports and ferry ports. Galway Airport is 15 minutes away.
