More information on Ashanti Lodge
Welcome to the Cape Diem Lodge! This Victorian villa, dating back to 1889, is nestled picturesquely at the foot of the Signal Hills in Greenpoint, probably the trendiest district in Cape Town. The new Lifestyle Lodge, opened in December 2007 is not only steeped in history and tradition, but also features high quality Afro-European design, the combination of which makes it an innovative establishment in the mother city of South Africa. The Lodges lovely Classic and Superior rooms are decorated in warm tones, and feature modern and exclusive design. The rooms have high ceilings, original Oregon Pine wooden flooring and are fully air-conditioned. Some of our rooms have direct access to the large swimming pool and typical Cape garden. The hotels services and facilities meet the expectations of even the most discerning travellers and offer all the comfort and conveniences imaginable. Just a short walk from the relaxed atmosphere of the Cape Diem Lodge guests will find a plethora of restaurants, boutiques and hip bars. Attractions such as the VA Waterfront, the Green Point Market, De Waterkant or Bo-Kaap are just a few minutes walk away. Toast the sunset each day, on the African hardwood sun-deck with a glass of South African wine, and enjoy life to the full, just as the Capetonians do! The sundeck enjoys lovely views out over the roofs of Cape Town and the VA Waterfront, all the way to Robben Island or Bloubegstrand Blue Mountain Beach. Our daily fresh and lavish English breakfast is served on the veranda, in the garden or at the poolside in summer and in our sunny breakfast room, with its view of the garden, in the winter months. In addition to this we offer you a choice of drinks and light meals during the day. Try one of the recommended wines from our wide range of South African wines and Champagnes. Our young, motivated team of staff is looking forward to your visit and to introducing you to typical Cape Town hospitality.

When driving from the airport or the Garden Route, just continue along the N2 towards Cape Town city centre. Please make sure you follow directions to Cape Town as we have had newcomers go in the wrong direction. Continue on the N2 for about 10 minutes and as you come up to the mountain keep right and continue towards the city - following the signs. Take the De Waal Drive turn-off to the left when the road forks and continue driving around the mountain. Just off De Waal Drive you need to take the Mill St turn-off. This will take you past a large shopping centre (Gardens Centre) on your left hand side and then you drive through two sets of traffic lights. The next road left (after the second set of lights at Upper Orange Street) is Hof St. It is just before the Mount Nelson hotel, so if you see that you know you have gone too far. We are two blocks up on the left hand side.
