The hotel is situated in a downtown location just a few steps from the Duomo and the Opera House Teatro Alla Scala. Within walking distance are the most famous streets for shopping and the most important museums of Milan such as the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Musei Del Castello. Also within walking distance is the financial district with the Borsa Di Milano and the headquarters of some of the most important banks. The Gran Duca Di York hotel was built in the 18th century. This nice and romantic hotel has just completed renovation of all the rooms. The lobby floor keeps again the original architecture of the building with the two rebuilt columns, the ceiling window and a little garden. The rooms are located on three floors, some of which face the courtyard. The newly renovated rooms are all furnished with two main colours- a light and relaxing yellow combined with a lovely light blue.
